I am originally from Brazil, where I obtained both my BSc in Oceanography (2004) and MSc in Aquaculture (2007) from Itajaí Valley University and Federal University of Santa Catarina, respectively. I moved to Flinders University in September 2010 to take my PhD in Aquaculture.
My main research interest is in use the knowledge of ecological processes to improve aquaculture production. Particularly at the moment, I am looking at the dynamics of intracohort cannibalism in fish and how to reduce this event during the larval and early juvenile stages of fish culture.
